This article is very interesting to read, therefore I take articles about the causes of autism and its symptoms.
Due to the disruption in parts of the brain, various developmental disorders can occur in children, known by the term autism. In Indonesia alone, according to the Autism Foundation, in 1999 there were about 60,000 children suffer from autism. And, the boy four times the risk of developing than girls.
Autism is a brain disorder that causes developmental disorders in children. Characteristics and symptoms usually begin to look at the age of three years. Generally, children who experience autism looks normal in the first months of her life. However, gradually, the child becomes less a response to others when asked to interact. For example, no berirespons when called by name, avoiding eye contact, and prefer to play alone. In addition, they also sometimes unable to silence and pacing themselves for no reason. However, the converse can also happen, they stand in a corner sat quietly alone.
During the babies, they are also very difficult to hold or cuddle. In addition, children who suffer from autism are usually also experience lags in the ability to talk. They can't say the words or sentences with good and not be able to start a conversation and was very happy to repeat the words he heard.
In terms of behaviour, such as interference, also appeared the movements of repetitive (loop), for example, moving the hand over and over or banging on the cheek. Also worrisome is if it appears self-destructive actions, such as the habit of menggigit-gigit hand or head banging into a wall.
Other symptoms are disturbances of emotions. Child autism can cry or laugh yourself without a clear reason. On some autistic children, all these symptoms can usually resolved when they mature, especially if the symptoms are not too severe. Autistic children may have a mental setback, so experiencing learning difficulties. However, it does not cover the possibility, some of them have a normal to high intelligence.
What causes autism? The occurrence of autism not only because one factor and each child has a different cause of autism. Clearly, some research found that nerve cells in several regions of the brain in children autism look smaller than its normal size. Other studies have also demonstrated the existence of the influence of air pollution on the high cases of autism. The possibility of the occurrence of autism is also increasingly large if the mother suffered from rubella or toxoplasmosis while pregnant.
Thus, how the handling of autism? Unfortunately, autism disorders there is currently no penyembuhnya. However, with the gift of therapy or special handling, some of the symptoms that appear can be reduced.
The success of the therapy is very depending on how severe the symptoms appear. What is clear, in spite of the severe symptoms or whether there might be premature, the handling is done on a regular basis will help sagat. At least, about 40 hours per week is required for autistic children to learn various skills and therapies that can help them to contacts with the outside world.
Some therapy does is a modification of behavior therapy; physiotherapy; motor skills, sensory therapies, and daily activities; speech therapy and communication; as well as relaxation and sensory exercises. The granting of a remedy also needs to be done to help them to be more able to concentrate even though given only a certain period only. Implementation of all these programs obviously requires cooperation among doctors, psychologists, and professional therapists.
One thing I need to know parents whose children suffer from autism is they should not expect too high as it does on a normal child. Therefore, it can take care of himself and understand the various simple concept alone is good enough for children of autism.
