Parents need to to build a child's
social competence. They must begin early to build social intelligence. Children
must be able to adapt to their surroundings, emotional relationship and also
get balanced nutrition.
Why are social skills so important? According to psychologist and Director of Personal Growth, Counseling and Development Centre, Jakarta, Ruth Abraham said, if the child can’t record the minimal social competence of six years old, most children will have problems as adults in certain areas.
"The results of various studies conducted within the period of 1990-2000 shows that social adaptation and long-term emotional, academic and cognitive development, and life," he said recently.
Various studies show the importance of socio-emotional development of children while they are still in the growth stage. Social skills will be developed further if they actively participate, not just observe and feel the influence of the adults around them.
"Don’t forget that parents are role-models, and children can learn to imitate the attitudes of parents with their social environment. Let the parents in Indonesia, we together realize and print-ready child life in the future, so that they are able to go through all the challenges of the world, "he explained.
