Often we hear and see on the television news and newspapers about the case of inter- tribal wars or ethnic . For example, inter- tribal war in Papua , Poso conflict , or conflict in the Maluku archipelago . Conflict or war is certainly due to several reasons . One reason that misconceptions and lack of education so that they are easily provoked by the words of others. Misunderstandings due to lack of understanding and lack of recognition that occurs between the two groups could lead to a split .

Understanding and misunderstandings due to lack of recognition can usually lead to judgments about the good and bad of a group that is not necessarily true . Judgments about the good and bad of a group that is not necessarily the truth and arise between the two groups is usually called Prejudice . One example again is prejudice against ethnic Madurese ethnic Javanese . I have ever known and I look straight in my everyday life , apparently the java is still just assume that when people speak of Madura with high sound notation is considered that the Madura people are angry , or joy talking to yell or even considered that they ( ethnic madura ) is very rude in speech . Though this is not necessarily true . It could be that the people of Madura notation does have a high voice in speaking , but it does not mean they speak rudely to others . In this case it is clear prejudice that occurred between the two groups ( ethnic Javanese and Madurese ethnic ) .

Well , in his own psychology of prejudice is a negative evaluation of a group or a person based on that person membership in what one group . In addition, prejudice is also based on the pre - assessment , which often reflects the evaluation conducted before knowing much about the characteristics of a person ( Selly E. Taylor , et al . , 2012, p.213 ) . So it is clear that the assessment of a person's good or bad about someone who is not necessarily the truth is a prejudice against the person who usually prejudice that can arise because we see these people based on their membership in a particular group such as the Javanese people who think that people have a way of speaking Madura rough even though it's not necessarily true because people do not yet know Java and do not understand well about the characteristics of the madura people .
