Based Grotberg (1995 : 15 ) there are three abilities or three factors that make up resilience resilience . For external support and resources , used the term ' I Have ' . For the power of the individual , in the individual used the term ' I Am ' , while for the interpersonal skills used istilah'I Can ' .
1.I Have
I Have a factor external support and resources in improving the bending . Before the child will realize who he was ( I Am ) or what he can do ( I Can ) , children need external support and resources to develop a feeling of safety and security that laid the foundation , which is core to develop resilience .
This aspect is beyond help and source of that increase resilience . Sources are as follows :
a) Trusting relationships ( trust relationship )
Parents , other family members , teachers , and friends who love and accept the child . Children of all ages need unconditional love from their parents and primary care providers ( primary care givers ) , but they need love and emotional support from other adults as well . Love and support of others can sometimes compensate for the lack of affection from parents .
b) Structure and rules at home
Parents who provide routine and clear rules , expect children to follow their behavior , and can rely on the child to do so . Rules and routines that include tasks that are expected to be done by children . Limits and consequences of the behavior are understood and clearly stated . If the rules are violated , children are helped to understand that what he is doing is wrong , then encouraged to tell him what happened , if necessary punished , then forgiven and reconciled an adult . Parents do not harm the child with punishment , and there is no let others harm the child .
c) Role models
Parents , other adults , brothers , and peers act in ways that demonstrate the desired behavior and acceptable , both in the family and other people . They show how to do things , such as dressing or ask for information and it will encourage children to imitate them . They serve as a model of morality and can introduce the child to religious rules .
d) Encouragement to be autonomous
Adults , especially the elderly , encourage the child to do something without the help of others and try to seek the help they need to help children to become autonomous . They praise the child when he exhibited the initiative and autonomy . Adults aware of the child's temperament , temperament as their own , so they can adjust the speed and level temperament to encourage children to be autonomous .
2 . I Am
I Am a strength factor that comes from within oneself . These factors include the feelings , attitudes , and beliefs within the child . There are some parts of the factor of I Am namely :
a) feeling loved and interesting behavior
The children are aware that people like and love him . Children will be kind to the people who like and love him . A person can set the attitude and behavior when faced with different responses when talking to others .
b) Love , empathy , and altruistic
Children love other people and the affection expressed in many ways . He cares about what happens to other people and expressed concern that through actions and words . Children feel uncomfortable and suffer because of other people and wanted to do something to stop or share the pain or pleasure .

Children knew he was someone important and feel proud of who he is and what can be done to pursue his desire . Children will not let others belittle or humiliate him. When people have problems in life , self-confidence and self -esteem to help them to survive and overcome the problem
