Service learning is a form of education that aims to develop social responsibility and service to the community . In service learning , students do activities such as teaching - aktvitas ( a tutor ) , help parents , work in hospitals , assisting in child care centers , or clean up a vacant lot into Gated play . An important goal of service learning is that teenagers are not too self-centered ( self - centered) and are more motivated to help others ( Sherrod & Lauckhardt , 2009) . Service learning is often more effective when the following two conditions are met ( Nucci , 2006) :
1 . Gives you the option to choose service activities by students , and
2 . Give perfection to the students to think about their participation .
Service leaning bringing education into the community ( % Lauckhardt Sherrod , 2009) . The researchers found that service learning can provide a number of benefits to students paa ( Sherrod & Lauckhardt , 2009) . Increase in adolescent development related to service learning menckup improved value , better goal setting , self-esteem is higher, than Bobby was able to do something for others , and increases the likelihood that adolescents untu to volunteer in the future ( Hart , Matsuba , & Atkins , 2008) .
Nahh ... service learning there are many benefits , I personally also agree about the service learning . Because the sense of solidarity and social life for the young and the more organized . No longer the cocky teenager with her formal schooling than other teens who are not mutilated and recording people around him who are around them . Teenagers are many who do not care about the fellow and the surrounding environment because they feel people who menenyam penddikan higher than those who do not , are more indifferent and individualistic in life . Therefore , service learning is very efficient and competent in the construction of socialism sense for teenagers .
