Gestalt is a German word meaning
of "form", can not be translated
in English but freely means "whole" or the whole. Gestalt
theory involving problems
or issues of visual
perception, memory and associated thoughts and knowledge, social
psychology and the psychology of art.
Some Gestalt laws namely:
1. Low of Proximity
Adjacent objects are considered more special than objects that are far apart. This confirms that adjacent objects are considered as a single group that is interpreted as something more special than objects that are far apart. An example is the eye will tend to see the 2 boxes next to each other as a group. We do not see the boxes around him because they are too far apart.

2. Low of Similarity
Similar objects are considered more privileged than the elements that are not similar. Objects are similar to each other tend to be seen as a form of unity. The resulting grouping of similarity reduce complexity and strengthen linkages design objects. Conversely, the lack of results and the perception of similarity in many different pieces to reinforce the differences between objects. An example is we will see objects in horizontal rows, not the columns vertically.

3. Low of Closure
A form showing closure if the elements are placed as a separate entity from different parts. Strong when the elements of the estimated closing simple pattern recognizable as geometric shapes and is located near one another. An example is when we see the image (drawing duck intermittent), we will mentally connect the lines are dotted and view images as a whole duck.

4. Low of Continuity
Continuity occurs when a portion of the overlap form or in the form of contact. Sense of sight we follow the dominant form across any other form without interruption. An example is when we see a straight line and a curved line through it, we will see the picture consists of two parts.

5. Low of Common
Fate
Shared the fate of the law contains the idea that objects are facing, toward, or moving in the same direction must be incorporated in the same group that is perceived as one group. For example a shoal of fish, flocks of birds.
