Education and employment preparation

The school is the main organizational experience in the lives of many teens. The school offers the opportunity to learn new skills, mastering information, and sharpen the skills of old; to take part in sports, the arts, and other activities to explore career choices and to make new friends. The school expanded its intellectual and social insight. For some teenagers, school experience is not an opportunity, but it is one more obstacle in the towards maturity.
In the U.S. and other industrial Nations and a few developing countries, more students are graduating FROM HIGH SCHOOL than ever before, and many who sign up for higher education (Eccles et al., 2003; OECD, 2004). In 2002, as many as 90% of teenagers aged 16 to 24 years old who are not enrolled in elementary or intermediate has graduated high school (NCES, 2005b). Among the 30 member countries of the organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD,2004), average level of education achieved ranges between 7.4 years in Mexico to 13.8 years in Norway. The U.S. average reached values academic achievement tests in redah than teenagers in many other countries (lemke et al.,2004; snyder & Hoffman, 2001). Further, although the achievement of students in grades four and eight as measured by the national assement of education progress has increased in some areas, the attainment of grade twelve are generally not increased (NCES,2003, 2005b). in the quotation from the book (Papalia: 2008 edition of 10)
In my opinion the students who Excel in school tend to stay in school. Like elementary school. Contributing factors such as nurturing parents, economic status, and home environments affect the way kuallitas achievement in schools in teenagers.
