Now we live , we breathe , we think , the move is a form of matter that we were aware . Aware that we live , our conscious thinking , and be aware of all the things that surround us . Like the sound of the alarm , the call to prayer , etc. . Awareness ( consciousness) is the alertness ( awareness) one of the events in the environment ( such as sights , sounds all around us ) and cognitive events that include memory , thoughts , feelings and physical sensations . Here we involve brain activity . Brain activity can be observed by others , but " the mind can only be observed by their owners " ( Damasio , 1999, p 4 ) . Overall we are is the result of our thoughts . Mind is all its. We become what we think .
Framework of consciousness is awareness (attention , wakefulness , architecture , recall of knowledge , emotive , novelty , Emergence , selectivity and subjectivity ) .
1 ) Attention ( attention ) that consciousness can be directed to the external and internal events .
2 ) wakefulness ( Preparedness , waking ) the continuum of sleep and wakefulness .
3 ) Architecture ( Architecture ) consciusness it has a number of physiological structure ( an architectural structure ) .
4 ) Recall of Knowledge ( recall of knowledge ) the awareness that enabled humans to gain access to knowledge through the process of recall ( and recognition ) to personal information about themselves and about the world . Is divided into 3 parts :
Ø Self -knowledge ( self-knowledge )
Ø World knowledge ( knowledge of the world )
Ø Activation of knowledge ( knowledge activation )
5 ) Emotive ( emotive ) the affective component that is associated with consciousness .
6 ) Novelty ( newness ), which is a tendency to not only focus on the thoughts and central events , but to find new items ( novel ) , creative , and innovative .
7 ) Emergence ( appearance ) that consciousness is different from other neural processes . consciusness arise from activity in the brain .
8 ) selectivity ( selectivity ) and Subjectivity ( Subjectivity ) that man is perpetually constant chose very little mind at any time , but thoughts can change quickly due to disruption of its there new thoughts or external cues .
Functions of consciousness according to Baars and McGovern (1996 )
Ø Context setting
Ø Adaptation and learning
Ø Setting priorities and access
Ø Recruitment and controls
Ø Decision making and executive function
Ø error detection and editing
Ø Monitor - self
Ø Organizing and Flexibility
The circuit described above is a structure that exists in consciousness . Awareness that increases the likelihood that an organism will direct her attention , and finally the movement , to whatever is most important for its survival and forher reproductive. If I was not awake , that I was still asleep . Someone who is fully aware of the use of the mind and what is in the brain . May be useful for all companions .
