cognitive psychology a new branch of science in psychology. cognitive derived from the word cognition from the language that has meaning latent cognoscere. meanwhile, according to the terms, cognition is defined as the process of thinking. According Strenberg (1999) cognition is a human activity which is related to how individuals perceive, learn, remember and think about the information,
the way we think about something that will affect the actions we take when we are faced with a problem.
What we think about when we are asked to describe our role model?
an idol is described by each individual depending on the point of view of what the use, such as physical, intelligence, religious aspects and so on. for example, suppose we asked some people who idolized the late Uje, how they fell about the charismatic figure and what makes Uje as the ideal figure for them. When the point of view of each of the different correspondent, then we will receive the answer would be different too. For those who view Uje in terms of physical, they would say Uje cleric who is handsome, tall, long noses and so on. While those who view Uje of religious aspects, they will say that Uje is a religious figure, has a vast knowledge of religion, preaching and so smart.
such cognitive processes occur, an imdividual can describe other individuals by way seeing, undestanding, and thinking of a target object with a point of view anddifferent aspects. it is quite possible that individual will make his idol figures as a model to be emulated by it. this is in line with the man concepts of social cognitife thepry on observational learning or learning by observing the behavior of person which may aries from the modelling proscess. modeling or imitation is "the direct, mechanical reproduction of behavior", which is a direct reproduction and mechanical behavior (Baran & Davis, 2000: 184).
