A concentration of mental effort on
sensory events or mental event is a common definition of attention. A large
number of contemporary ideas about the attention centered on the premise that
there is infinite cues around us,. We
neurologic capacity is too limited to detect millions of
external stimuli , and even if all
these stimuli can be detected , our brains would not be able to process
millions of these stimuli , because the information processing capacity is
limited . Human sensory systems , as well as the types of other communication
channels , works fine when the amount of information processed within the range
of system capabilities . Instead , the system will not work well if they get
overloaded ( overloaded ) ( Solso , et al , 2008) .
We are able to perform perceptual stimuli with only one shown to us . But early perceptions we are not always right . Even with only witnessed one other stimuli , our perception will change and we will not necessarily change the perception of the first one with another perception . For example , a student who went to Terminal Arjosari by using public transportation . The students felt the pace of public transportation when it is very slow and different from usual . Of these stimuli the students have the perception that the driver is driving a public transportation still new . The driver is experiencing confusion predictable path to Terminal Arjosari convoluted . But not long after some of the students found that some other public transportation was running very slow and on the back there are two fire trucks sped off in the same direction . By looking at the two fire trucks that students had changed his perception to say that not because angkotnya driver who does not know the direction towards Terminal Arjosari but a fire at a residential compound in line with the public transportation lines , the statement will be the fire more emphasized by the many smoke around the scene .
Are perception and attention are interconnected ? If so , how is the relationship between the two?
I think the perception will occur when attention is raised . Not likely someone will judge something if no one objects to the assessment as examples of the above cases . Because public transportation commonly used by students of a sudden does not correspond to the usual rate of students said that the minivan drivers did not know the route to the terminal Arjosari ( student perception ) . Then, from behind the two cars drove very fast fire ( attention ) that make student had changed its perception . In conclusion , perception and attention are related
